Taking a holistic approach to improving health and livelihoods in rural Africa
Since our founding in 2013, Maji Safi Group (MSG) has successfully worked with different development sectors because the water, sanitation, and hygiene crisis cuts across so many. To keep developing our model, MSG is now excited to start including the agricultural sector through our new innovative WASH Hub community centers. The overall goal of our WASH Hubs is to put as many services as possible for people living in rural poverty under one roof and empower them to improve their own livelihoods. While MSG’s work with teaching disease prevention is so vital to improved health, reduced hospital expenses, and a better livelihood, it is through agriculture, that we can increase our beneficiaries’ income and enable them to invest in their families’ future.
It is MSG’s goal to build our first WASH Hub in the Rorya District of Tanzania in 2021. The WASH Hub project is being spearheaded by a dedicated group of volunteers in both the US and Tanzania. This group includes professional architects, cost estimators, construction project managers, and development professionals with extensive experience with working in rural areas across the globe. We believe that the best way to alleviate poverty is by providing people with technology, education, and access to finance, so they can generate more disposable income while continuing to improve personal and public health.
We hope you will join us on our journey to provide innovate solutions to poverty in rural Tanzania. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or would like to join the movement!
